David Nobbs comedy tribute Page to Stage
Saturday 29th October, 2016
Seven Arts, Leeds
David Nobbs was a Patron of Script Yorkshire. Yet, despite his success and all his years' experience writing for TV, radio and theatre, he always insisted on being a fully paid-up member and loved to muck in with the rest of us. He regularly attended socials and gave workshops and talks.
To members of the Board he was our friend.

David always had time for other writers, no matter what level. Whenever I saw him he would ask about my writing and I told him I was working on a novel. When I asked him for some tips, he said, "Well June, it never gets any easier!"
I really miss David. We all do. So it was a really fitting tribute that we had a Page to Stage comedy night in his honour. There were five script-in-hand performances and a feedback panel of Michael Stewart, Gary Brown, Lisa Holdsworth and Alison Hume, who also had to pick a winning script.
David's lovely wife, Susan Nobbs, attended the evening. It made it a very special night indeed. It was a real honour to spend time with her, and I got to present her with some flowers at the end.
